Tristan Northing
Tristan Northing, Mechanical Design Engineer, obtained his Bachelor’s Degree of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria in 2019. During his time at the university, he developed a passion for optimisation, efficiency and energy. This resulted in him minoring in Optimum Design. As a result, he seeks to apply the theory he has learnt in university to complex engineering problems faced on a daily basis. In addition to this, he compliments Alulatech Engineer’s values in seeking optimal and efficient designs to real-world complex engineering problems. Tristan has 2 years of engineering experience in automation and pressure equipment solutions. He also has an exceptionally good understanding of ISO and Quality Control Management. Tristan is also currently registered as a Candidate Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). He is excited to shortly follow suit in becoming a Registered Professional Engineer with ECSA within the next year. Tristan has completed his Honour’s Degree’s course work in Metallurgy in Welding Engineering. He has since registered with the International Institute of Welding as an International Weling Engineer (IWE).
Riaan Barkhuizen
Riaan Barkhuizen, Principal Mechanical Designer, started his career as an apprentice at the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (NECSA) where he qualified as a Fitter & Turner as well as a Refrigeration Technician. Riaan built his career around the construction, commissioning and maintenance of the refrigeration plant used to cool the distillation columns of chemical process plants. As a result of this, Riaan grew into the draughting office of the chemical plants where he found his passion for all things draughting. Starting with drawing by hand, Riaan has grown through the draughting ages and has learnt to apply hand-drawing skills to the easy of CAD and 3D modelling. With years of hands-on experience, Riaan brings a very practical approach to draughting solutions. Alulatech Engineers prides itself in the quality of the drawings that come out of their drawing office. The quality of the drawings produced by Alulatech Engineers is a manifestation of Riaan’s pride in his work. Riaan has been involved in the drawing of all mechanical components and equipment, flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), plant isometric drawings as well as pipeline and pressure vessel isometric drawings. Riaan’s wide range of skills makes him an asset to Alulatech Engineers and our clients.
DEAN HANEKOM
Mechanical Design Draughtsman, began his career as a draughtsman in 2015 when he graduated his Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) course at CTU Training Solutions. During his time at the college, his interest in the mechanical engineering sector grew, leading his draughting aspirations into creating 3D models & detailed CAD drawings of large scale mechanical mining machinery and equipment. After 5 years of essential practical experience, knowledge & understanding of the mechanical industry gained, he then leaped towards expanding his knowledge & improving his skills in the hydraulic sector. His attention to detail helped form his approach to successful draughting solutions, as well as manifest his pride in the quality of his work. Dean has been involved at Alulatech Engineers in the draughting of pressure equipment & mechanical componentry detail drawings, as well as pipeline isometrics. His skillset, work ethic & assistance to Riaan in the draughting office has proven him a team player & asset to Alulatech Engineers & our clients.
NATHAN STORM
our Mechanical Design Draughtsman with over three years of design experience in the ammonia refrigeration industry. Nathan specializes in creating detailed process plant P&ID’s, 3D piping ISO’s and project completion as-built models. Starting his career with a focus on plant isometric drawings for project data packs, Nathan has developed a keen eye for translating complex ideas into meticulous designs that meet client specifications. His expertise extends to ensuring every detail aligns with project requirements. Nathan values effective communication and collaboration, always ready to contribute innovative ideas during concept development. His dedication to quality craftsmanship and problem-solving makes him a trusted partner in delivering superior design solutions.
